Students

Students from all over the world attend HVA, making it the 3rd most diverse private high school in Maryland. As a boarding Academy, we prioritize community engagement, recreational activities, and spiritual programming. Students are part of an engaged faith-based community and will feel at home because of the way each teacher and administrator invests in their lives.

At Highland View Academy, we believe that the work of Education and Redemption goes hand in hand. For this reason, we are committed to providing our students a spiritual & Christian environment. Worship is a fundamental part of a person’s spiritual journey, because of this our Campus Ministries Department provides worship programming, such as vespers, Friday chapels, and daily Prayer & Praise chapels. Service is also a pillar of our school. Students participate in quarterly service projects in our local Hagerstown community and partner with organizations to provide helpful services to those in need or anyone needing a helping hand. Highland View Academy students can also serve on mission trips, both domestically and internationally. Our goal is to bring our students into a deeper relationship with Jesus and to serve Him in all ways.

Campus Family

The HVA campus family is more than just a community - it's your immediate family for this academic year. We are a tight-knit group of students, teachers, and staff who support, encourage, and care for one another through the ups and downs of life. Just like a family, we laugh together, learn from each other, and lift each other up when faced with challenges.

As your campus family, we are committed to providing a sense of belonging, connection, and security. We understand that each student has their own unique needs, interests, and goals, and we strive to create a personalized and inclusive environment that allows everyone to not only thrive but enjoy their campus life.

This year, we will celebrate each other's triumphs, support each other through difficulties, and grow together as individuals and as a community. We will be your rock, your sounding board, and your safe space. We will help you navigate academic and personal challenges, and we will cheer you on as you achieve your dreams.

So, welcome to the HVA campus family! We are honored to be your family this year and can't wait to see the amazing things we will accomplish together. How’s this?

Work Program

The work program is an integral part of the education program at Highland View Academy. We believe it is important for students to learn good work ethics and encourage students to be employed. The student employment program enables students to pay a portion of their expenses, helps students learn the responsibilities in the real world of work, and take responsibility and make personal commitments toward their own Christian education. Many students at Highland View Academy pay a portion of their academy expenses through their employment, however, Highland View Academy makes no guarantee regarding the amount which a student will earn toward his/her expenses.
Students should recognize that work assignments are as important as class appointments. Work responsibilities come before social activities, varsity sports, and other extracurricular activities.

Our school is dedicated to helping students achieve excellence in academics, spiritual growth, social responsibility, interpersonal relationships, and living a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
